How to Wear Colours

Bright hosiery is difficult to pair with dresses and outfits, but with our easy colour matching guide, you will find it easy to get the perfect pair of tights for any occasion. If you have a plain dress, you can go with patterned or plain tights. But if you are wearing a patterned dress, almost stick with normal, plain coloured hosiery. Some of the best plain colored pantyhose are Oroblu All Colours Slide Touch, which come in 20 and 50 denier. Other brands I would recommend are the Jonathan Aston, which come in a 15 and 40 denier, and have the widest range of colours. Tiffany Quinn is the best brand on the market for funky hosiery and their tights are some of the best on the market.

A Guide to Denier

Denier is the thickness of hosiery. Sheer tights are below 40 denier in thickness. Sheer tights are see-through, so if you are just looking to colour your legs, go for the lower denier.

Fashion Tips

Colored pantyhose are a wonderful way to make a fashion statement, and you can make a quick change to outfit by following a list of simple tips.
  • Fashion tights should be noticeable, so go for unusual and striking patterns. Pamela Mann is a great company for bright and loud designs.
  • Contrasting is a popular technique. Take bright greens and pair them with bubblegum pinks to make a loud and proud spring wardrobe.
  • Always keep up with the magazines. This is the best way to get you good advice about fashion. Subscribe to regular fashion magazines and youŽll be there in no time. All good magazines do a section of leg wear, so youŽll always be up to the minute when choosing your hosiery.
  • Find your favourite. Either tights, stockings or hold ups. If you feel comfortable in one more than the other, then wear those. You will always be able to make a better statement in clothes you are comfortable with.

Spring/Summer

To give you a few samples for this summer, I have made a list of everything you can do to make yourself look more fashionable and IŽve included ways to use your colored tights too.
  • Layering: This is when you layer your clothing, with a jumper underneath, a t-shirt over the top and a sleeveless jacket to finish. Putting on a pair of colored tights or leggings and a pair of shorts is a great way to layer and get some great colour on your legs.
  • Black Leather: Black Leather is in, and there are a few classic colours you can pair with any black clothes. Black tights are the obvious choice, but take a look at a few shades of red and youŽll be able to make you outfit stand out much more. Deeper reds are the best, as black is a strong colour and youŽll want to compliment this with deep and rich shades. Avoid cool colours like blues and greens, and as rule of thumb, brown never goes well with black. Pink will do well this season with black leather, but a real classic match is black and purple. Get hold of some deep and rich purple coloured tights and youŽll have the perfect outfit.
  • Shorts Under Long Jackets: Although a long jacket might not be the best thing to wear with them, but as its summer, select a lightweight coat and keep it open. The shorts are perfect layering material, so you get a good pair into outfit after all.
